There are a few reasons I have been gone, and I don't know when I will be back.<br />
<br />
I have been having health issues ever since I had my son in April 2012. I have changed my lifestyle somewhat and I am definitely making a lot of healthier choices and it has helped. But not enough. Some things are beyond my control and I'm just not in the best place right now. I used to come here to let out my creative energy but it seems that I don't have as much of that left in me after work and putting the kids to bed. I think maybe I'm just getting old LOL.<br />
<br />I do plan on creating a tumblr and I would love to help with any questions on beauty and cosmetics. Also might share some pics there but probably not for a while because my skin is so bad right now it will be a while before I get that camera out again.<br />
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has supported me on this
wonderful journey and I hope you will all be here when I come back to
blogging.<br />
xoxo Lexa Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05449633300121629825noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6478651629837902954.post-77509062882000228062013-02-03T03:46:00.001-05:002013-02-03T03:49:02.005-05:00MAC Archies girls haul, swatches, photos and FOTD <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello all, I could not resist this collection because I was pretty well obsessed with Archie comics when I was a kid. Part of me thought maybe I should pass since I'm a grown up now but then I saw the color story and everything that is in Betty's collection just called my name.<br />
<br />
So here we go, $240 CAD later...<br />

I got flatter me pearl matte, veronica's blush pearlmatte, cream soda blush, lord it up pearlglide eyeliner, summer sweetheart lipglass, betty bright lipstick and caramel sundae eyeshadow quad.<br />
<br />
This is mainly just a photo swatch post, but I am going to be doing a comparison post soon.<br />
I know there are many swatches floating around out there already, but in case you want to see how they look on super pale skin NC10/NC15 then this is for you. My camera likes to pick up odd cool/warm tones so they are not the most accurate of swatches but I tried to capture how the products look on me.<br />

I really hunted this new mascara down! I went to about 5 different local drug stores before I found it. <br />
<br />
Physicians formula fake out mascara claims to give an '<i>(almost) false lash effect</i>' and '<i>24 hr wear</i>'.<br />
It is described as the '<i>1st EVER mascara with 100% natural origin lash extension fibers for the full-on fringe of false lashes without irritation.</i>' That just sounded amazing for a natural mascara. Maybe too amazing!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6vgP47U2RiwwQMrL9cQSsM8853GDa8EEEyS2X3IqMiDwasHWVQPWsblHwnx3wmjBiuvzyCxmw1IK8DIwY9yabJ9pPITjDl6w9MlsCw4PCSZ3lEMyGqPYPunse_H8c_aS5RlLjWIDpw0Yd/s1600/P1020071.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="106" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6vgP47U2RiwwQMrL9cQSsM8853GDa8EEEyS2X3IqMiDwasHWVQPWsblHwnx3wmjBiuvzyCxmw1IK8DIwY9yabJ9pPITjDl6w9MlsCw4PCSZ3lEMyGqPYPunse_H8c_aS5RlLjWIDpw0Yd/s320/P1020071.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I adore the packaging. I don't think I've ever seen a fuchsia colored mascara tube before!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3bXM_pXZ3d1nDRky-v8ZhrE6fQewluH_ao6KYFAKGM1BGQLjeusDyX0E_6iDez_BzZFzWjn9V4ZMruBxSgcQqtgxlaSZhyw95tX8-2y37rIY3RkHRMis8NqVyg3Y-gDmrw3o17wqLNfSP/s1600/P1030097.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3bXM_pXZ3d1nDRky-v8ZhrE6fQewluH_ao6KYFAKGM1BGQLjeusDyX0E_6iDez_BzZFzWjn9V4ZMruBxSgcQqtgxlaSZhyw95tX8-2y37rIY3RkHRMis8NqVyg3Y-gDmrw3o17wqLNfSP/s320/P1030097.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The wand is huge! One of the biggest I've used. It is actually hard to get it close to your lashes because it is so massive. It's practically impossible to get it onto lower lashes, I tried my best but I end up did poking myself.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Sigh, I had such high hopes for this mascara. All the claims sounded so good. I have tried the original organic wear mascara and the lash boosting one as well - both were really good. They held curl, added length and conditioned my lashes.<br />
<br />
Fake out is different because of the fibers. In a good and bad way.<br />
First, I found the formula extremely dry. I mean so dry, it was hard to get an even coat on. I had to layer a lot to get it onto my lashes evenly.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is what 4 coats looks like:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPFE8iC9_0ewTI833IyaceXunU8Mb94yvJfhPtRQ4p65B3GvPwTDHY6BuYvgA_hfQvDMzb5JA1haHkrjdlqP0mSu-fbrfgoF5NH5DKPkqDGGHvv8PwzkWHrWRtzh-EajeH8J2BlEthI5Sx/s1600/P1030105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ0H2Uf5K3rhuSHgKJwmzAulzpr-QBywBQpvBxGV3PhmAH4xHQ-aJLEETvQGLsfIz5Iz567-1mLt8MOUSKQsVfolsXsik_ZIB-pKi8L-oyfun0tnHhkAc1NGYbbfMPo_R254KH1TEs6X0p/s1600/P1030086.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ0H2Uf5K3rhuSHgKJwmzAulzpr-QBywBQpvBxGV3PhmAH4xHQ-aJLEETvQGLsfIz5Iz567-1mLt8MOUSKQsVfolsXsik_ZIB-pKi8L-oyfun0tnHhkAc1NGYbbfMPo_R254KH1TEs6X0p/s320/P1030086.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Yah, sadly, it took 4 coats to get my lashes noticeably defined and thick. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My lashes aren't short per say, but this made them feel stubby and weighed down. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The fibers did not extend the tips of the lashes, but worked to thicken them.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Physicians Formula made this fake out formula so viscous and dry it can't lift and lengthen the way the other organic wear mascaras do.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It wore fairly well, with slight flaking by the end of the day, but that is expected with 4 coats of a dry mascara! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My huge gripe with all the organic wear mascaras? If they come in contact with water (like rain, eyedrops, crying) they will run everywhere, horribly. Fake out did this, but not as badly as the others did.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Please, Physicians Formula - please make organic wears in water proof or water resistant! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Overall, if you don't mind a dry mascara that needs layering, and only want volume - you might just love this.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If you like wet formulas and length/drama then you probobly won't like this very much.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Repurchase? No, too dry<br />

Price: $17.99 CAD (and it came with $6 rebate coupon)<br />

Revlon has closely copied Urban Decay's naked foundation! You can check out my review for Urban Decay's version <a href="http://makeupormorte.blogspot.ca/2012/12/urban-decay-naked-skin-foundation-review.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Unfortunately, nearly naked does not come with a foundation pump. Why Revlon why? And, this Canadian version does not come with SPF 20 like the US version. WTH!? That makes me mad. </div>

I got the lightest shade, 110 ivory. I thought it would be too pink but it actually works well on my skin (NC10). It blends in nicely, and the finish is very skin-like<br />

As you can see it is medium coverage, and easily covers redness and scars. I love the finish of this. It blends so beautifully. <br />
<br />
So, here is the break down on how Revlon compares to Urban Decay's formula:<br />
<br />
<b>Price:</b><br />
Revlon nearly naked $10.97 CAD for 1oz / UD naked skin $45 CAD for 1 oz<br />
Revlon is $34 cheaper!<br />
<br />
<b>packaging:</b><br />
Here is where UD excels! UD comes in a nice pump bottle, while Revlon is housed in a glass bottle with a twist off cap.<br />
<br />
<b>formula:</b><br />
I don't have exact ingredients to compare but both include antioxidants to help skin. They also both contain a lot of silicones, but I did notice Revlon's version uses less than UD.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Coverage:</b><br />
Both have similar coverage power, ranging from light to medium.<br />
<br />
<b>application:</b><br />
I felt that Revlon was easier to blend than UD. UD went on a bit patchy, and you're supposed to use an expensive brush with it that is just a waste of money in my opinion, although others say it's amazing. Revlon was a dream to put on and it layered well.<br />
<br />
<b>finish:</b><br />
Revlon actually feels light on, while UD felt heavy. They both have a nice skin-like finish. I found UD to badly sink into pores/lines after an hour or so, Revlon barely did that, and when it did, it was hardly noticeable.<br />
<br />
<b>wear time:</b><br />
UD wore well for about 6 hours. Revlon wore for about 8 before starting to fade.<br />
<br />
Overall, I wasn't impressed with UD naked skin, but I really liked Revlon nearly naked. It looked more natural and felt a lot lighter than UD. It covered nicely and it blended easily. It didn't settle into pores the way UD did.<br />
The color match was good for both brands, and they have a wide selection for most skin tones. I would recommend Revlon nearly naked to everyone!<br />
<br />
I personally like <a href="http://makeupormorte.blogspot.ca/2011/07/trash-review-revlon-colorstay.html" target="_blank">Revlon colorstay</a> foundation better than nearly naked for it's lasting power. I will probably stick with that but nearly naked was a nice surprise for a cheap price! <br />
<br />
Repurchase? No (I like colorstay better)<br />

Happy 2013 everyone!<br />
Shockingly, I have found a bunch of HG or 'holy grail' products this year! It makes me happy to find amazing things that suit me, but at the same time it takes the fun away from hunting for something new.<br />
<br />
Everything in this post are products I use daily or a few times per week. <br />
You might recognize some of these items from <a href="http://makeupormorte.blogspot.ca/2012/07/my-summer-beauty-favorites.html" target="_blank">my summer favorites post</a>.<br />
Sorry, I didn't take individual pictures of everything, I wanted to get this posted before 2014 ;) So; here are my top 12 beauty buys from 2012. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>12. Clinique take the day off cleansing balm $34 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This was a recent discovery and I am so impressed with it. I've wasted so much money trying to find a 'gentle' cleanser that completely removes makeup. I can't use foaming cleansers or wipes anymore, they make my face red and irritated. This balm easily takes off every single trace of makeup, even waterproof mascara - and it rinses off completely. No oily residue at all! I love this stuff so much.<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>11. Essence volumizing lash powder $3.99 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I was skeptical, but this stuff works so well. I found that using wet mascara with it is best. Covergirl lash blast (orange tube) worked magically with it. It gave me fake looking lashes. The fibers won't irritate sensitive eyes, just be careful when applying and you will get amazing lashes.<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>10. ELF liquid eyeliner $1.50 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I grabbed this back in the summer when I ran out of MAC penultimate liner (which dried out within 3 months of use :( And I don't think I will look back. I can get a thin dark line in one swipe, and it stays put all day. So cheap too!<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>9. Maybelline color tattoo cream shadow bad to the bronze $8.99 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I use this all the time. It's one of my go-to shadows because it is so quick and easy to get a gorgeous taupe shimmery eye. Just apply to lids, add a few coats of mascara and then put on some more for a little more color intensity. <b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>8. Wet n Wild color icon palette vanity $6.99 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I think this is what I would consider my HG eyeshadow palette. I recently purchased a back up. It's so pigmented and gorgeous. The colors blend like a dream. I was using MAC blanc type as an all over base shadow before, but when I started using the matte beige in this quad I realized that it was even better than MAC! I will never be without this palette.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>7. NARS larger than life lipgloss Tiber $30 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love NARS larger than life glosses. I think they are the best out there. They are shiny, long lasting and hydrating. No stickiness at all. Tiber is my favorite color, a nice neutral beige. I am going to buy more.<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>6. MAC lipstick blankety $18 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is my HG lipstick. It is the perfect mix of pink and beige and I can wear it with anything. It tones down the redness in my lips but it doesn't make me look like a corpse. <b></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>5. MAC paint pot constructivist $20 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love this as an all over lid color or as a liner. It's a nice rich brown with reddish pearl. It makes my green eyes pop. Genius color. Another item I will never be without.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>4. MAC eyebrow pencil lingering $18 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This has become my HG brow product. I have tried lots. This is IT. The color is perfect, it looks totally natural, it defines and helps shape and fill in brows where needed. Most importantly, it stays on all day and it keeps brows in place. I couldn't ask for more. I have heard that maybelline has a dupe of this product so I will be checking that out too.<b></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>3. MAC mineralize skin finish light year (limited edition) $34 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm sorry I had to put an LE product in here, but this has become my everyday blush. I mix all the colors together and it gives me a luminous pink/beige/peach glow that I haven't got from anything else. It's exactly what I want in a blush. A little glow without looking overdone. All pale girls need this in their stash!<b></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>2. MAC play it proper beauty powder $34 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is my HG highlight product. It is a light pearly pink and it gives my cheekbones an amazing glow. I've hit pan and already have a backup because I use it pretty well every day. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I highly recommend light pink highlighters for pale skin, I think they are the most flattering. <b></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>1. Make up forever face and body foundation $44 CAD</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My number one favorite? MUFE face and body foundation. I love it. I haven't found any other foundation that gives such a youthful look to skin as this. It's dewy but it is so light feeling, and it lasts all day. I tried shade #20 and it was very dark on me, I ended up going for #38 porcelain ivory and it is a pretty decent match. It's expensive, and hard to get here but I will keep using it until I find something similar.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope you liked my top 12! What were your favorites of 2012? There were so many great things this year it was hard to pick!</div>

<br />
Kat Von D foiled love lipstick is a super metallic, frosty formula. It is much different from the <a href="http://makeupormorte.blogspot.ca/#uds-search-results" target="_blank">regular lipsticks</a> (I love) which are either matte or satin type finishes. <br />
The packaging is also different from the regular line, it's metallic silver with white rose designs. I always love KVD packaging!<br />
<br />
I don't really go for frosty lip colors, but this was a gift so I thought I should try it out.<br />
Forever and never looked like it would suit me better than any of the other foiled love colors. It's described as a 'metallic golden peach'. I would say it's an accurate description.<br />

<br />
It almost has a peach/bronze duochrome look to it. It's frosty - big time. It's not extremely pigmented in one go, but 2 layers gives you rich dimensional color.<br />

The redness in my lips makes this look more bronze, and very warm. It was a change from my usual nude colors that I wear. I am just not loving it on me.<br />
I'm not sure if it was just mine or if all the foiled love lipsticks have a sort of waxy old lipstick smell? None of my other KVD lipsticks have this. Maybe I just got a bad one. <br />

Revlon finally jumped on the BB cream bandwagon, so I wanted to do a quick review.<br />
<br />
I like the packaging, it's sleek silver and looks nice. It has a twist off cap, which is decent.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_9hdwa6-tYRDOHhJJ_wQ0jaW2Nl7faKdP1Sk0zPJj2GldtnakZ_7tG5kwYe9l3xWzaCMEH-lTK3_pjcyl6MPkAKrbeuHJ7E9GlLku7PyGKQGpKJoLQ2ts_qKADIPf37IFPjdz4cWdH1N_/s1600/PC190077.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="151" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_9hdwa6-tYRDOHhJJ_wQ0jaW2Nl7faKdP1Sk0zPJj2GldtnakZ_7tG5kwYe9l3xWzaCMEH-lTK3_pjcyl6MPkAKrbeuHJ7E9GlLku7PyGKQGpKJoLQ2ts_qKADIPf37IFPjdz4cWdH1N_/s320/PC190077.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The color I got was 010 light, which is the lightest one of the 4 or so available. I wasn't worried about a color match because revlon's fair colors usually match me.<br />

This actually oxidized on me. When freshly applied it looked ok, but after a few minutes it turned into an orange toned mess. I was not impressed. I could not wear it alone. I wore it under <a href="http://makeupormorte.blogspot.ca/2011/07/trash-review-revlon-colorstay.html" target="_blank">Revlon colorstay foundation (normal/dry)</a> and the performance was not good. It made the colorstay wear off quickly and my face felt very greasy by the end of the day.<br />
<br />
Photoready BB cream is another glorified tinted moisturizer. The finish is sheer and tacky. It's very similar to Maybelline dream BB cream. They both looked like an orange slick mess on my face. <br />
<br />
pros:<br />
- contains SPF 30<br />
- contains antioxdants<br />
- didn't irritate my senstitive skin<br />
- not expensive<br />
- moisturizing <br />
<br />
cons: <br />
- oxidizes after applied <br />
- no colors suitable for very fair skin<br />
- feels greasy, potentially pore clogging<br />
- does not act as a primer as it claims<br />
- rubs off easily<br />
- very sheer<br />
<br />
The only way I would recommend this is if you are looking for a very sheer tinted moisturizer, and if you have dry skin not prone to breakouts. I only wore this once and I felt clogs forming after. This did not impress me much. If you are curious, I'd say try Maybelline BB cream, because it's very similar in finish and also has SPF 30 for 1/2 the price of Revlon.<br />
<br />
repurchase? No way<br /><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRr3KCa1obskMNN7JC6TAHHdu_uGQBMPX4L_aPfimDLDO756i1U5qbPxUc_blQRRIzS4CTqanN6UFTVYtKNn3KJFN7kTtXRwV4URdS1f227w1vzzDWFgdJnpC-wrza2ib95PcwzJR2hEJm/s1600/PA180088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRr3KCa1obskMNN7JC6TAHHdu_uGQBMPX4L_aPfimDLDO756i1U5qbPxUc_blQRRIzS4CTqanN6UFTVYtKNn3KJFN7kTtXRwV4URdS1f227w1vzzDWFgdJnpC-wrza2ib95PcwzJR2hEJm/s320/PA180088.JPG" width="104" /></a></div>
Maybelline is putting out new mascaras left and right lately! Just one after the other after the other... <br />
<br />
I tried the original 'colossal' mascara a few years back and I really liked it, except that it flaked horribly.<br />
Fast forward to a few months ago I tried the waterproof version, and it was so dry I couldn't get anything on my lashes.<br />
So I was slightly hesitant to try this. But, anything to do with cat eyes grabs my attention, so I got this as soon as I saw it on display.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiztxF_ebCsL3Zipvg0DjwLyzsMIMRmPXMS_C9O75OI9nUKWE2fpDHeezHg43cPxU6sGw_npSv-vSHWrlywxPgnZTJoBGpG0n7wjFvs4V_aIAi9kWNuhgvcMk3_M7RqmJlJaA8PdlQPCWHs/s1600/PA180089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="194" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiztxF_ebCsL3Zipvg0DjwLyzsMIMRmPXMS_C9O75OI9nUKWE2fpDHeezHg43cPxU6sGw_npSv-vSHWrlywxPgnZTJoBGpG0n7wjFvs4V_aIAi9kWNuhgvcMk3_M7RqmJlJaA8PdlQPCWHs/s320/PA180089.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The tube has a cute leopard print pattern on it, it looks a bit juvenile in my opinion, but I suppose they are pushing products towards the younger crowd these days.<br />
<br />
The 'claw' brush, actually does a good job of grabbing and coating lashes. It's a little awkward to work with if you aren't used to curved a brush. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The cat claw wand (click for large size) :</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM7PObiGw8NwmmHRlyQ3MewKCVPRV7SrnQF-oLkAk1c61GQzxCOjbEaYA1OhcPet06gxxFmogjm43mmfLMBRNMJ4yXkAD2UgT_xIDdKRvIKoMuw_bg8LfLqPKBarXqYI52zbN4aPGkJu_q/s1600/PA180095.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="136" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM7PObiGw8NwmmHRlyQ3MewKCVPRV7SrnQF-oLkAk1c61GQzxCOjbEaYA1OhcPet06gxxFmogjm43mmfLMBRNMJ4yXkAD2UgT_xIDdKRvIKoMuw_bg8LfLqPKBarXqYI52zbN4aPGkJu_q/s400/PA180095.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The result is fanned out lashes that are nicely lengthened and a little volumized. The curved brush helps to curl lashes up and the end of it is great for flipping up the outer corner lashes. Adding mascara to those outer corner lashes does result in a more cat-eye look and overall sultry eye.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpmOjF2UnV3oAv1WsFxWKMEHv16OWzzYlie13aneCpnCIgW83l01v1ZUJq2laN7WCCXCzYjyLX9w50wQyVAne7eQS8eeuU1chM75A0zgBjAcawSypQ2ifJLASRm9RTXzebrNHswyreFO7g/s1600/maybellinecateye.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpmOjF2UnV3oAv1WsFxWKMEHv16OWzzYlie13aneCpnCIgW83l01v1ZUJq2laN7WCCXCzYjyLX9w50wQyVAne7eQS8eeuU1chM75A0zgBjAcawSypQ2ifJLASRm9RTXzebrNHswyreFO7g/s320/maybellinecateye.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The formula is very wet and smells of roses. it's the exact same formula as the original colossal. Therefore, I have the exact same problem with it, the flaking off :/<br />
I really like the brush, and if the formula was better I would recommend it.<br />
<br />
Overall, this doesn't do too much for volume but it's great for length. It can be layered but beware of clumping. If you liked the original Maybelline Colossal you will probably like this too.<br />

I used sinful colors 'you just wait' (love this color!) as a base on all except the middle finger which I used MAC lacquer in endless night. Then I applied <a href="http://makeupormorte.blogspot.ca/2011/06/notd-icing-dark-magic.html" target="_blank">Icing's dark magic</a> to the tips (horribly because the tape I used didn't work properly) and added on some purple gems stones to make it look more glam. <br />

I recently tried Urban Decay naked skin 'weightless ultra definition liquid makeup'. I read a lot of reviews before buying it, and it seemed that most either absolutely loved it or hated it.<br />
<br />
The packaging is very basic and plain like the Urban Decay naked palettes.<br />
I liked the pump dispenser. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBAiQEiq6fdghlHoxXTKjyW3OOUTw76PI8iLhHP49XbIbtJtAJn7r3nR49kFYV_Cn-2kKmyAfIFystUuXOiW5RHICFB3Z4mr4Eymkcl5slDPEdQatEENMGOiWbgnf6lZewPA1EroGl_qE8/s1600/PA270033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBAiQEiq6fdghlHoxXTKjyW3OOUTw76PI8iLhHP49XbIbtJtAJn7r3nR49kFYV_Cn-2kKmyAfIFystUuXOiW5RHICFB3Z4mr4Eymkcl5slDPEdQatEENMGOiWbgnf6lZewPA1EroGl_qE8/s320/PA270033.JPG" width="84" /></a></div>
I chose the color 1.0 since it seemed to be the closet match to my skin at the moment. It is right on with MAC NC15 in comparison.<br />

As you can see from the hand swatches it looks very skin-like once blended and set. I liked the finish. Not matte and not dewy, more satin yet still felt lightweight. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The coverage was medium, it went on light but I built up a second layer easily. It covered everything that I needed covered, redness and scars disappeared.<br />
The main thing I was looking forward to was that it claimed to be 'weightless' and feel like you aren't wearing anything. Well, I sure felt it on my skin and it felt like any other foundaiton loaded with silicones.<br />
It wasn't 'heavy' but it sure wasn't weightless.<br />
<br />
An hour or so after initial application I noticed that it started to look cakey and settle into my fine lines and pores. I felt that it exaggerated the dry areas of my face, because it just
sort of moved into every nook and cranny it could, leaving me with an
uneven complexion. I was pretty disappointed.<br />
<br />
It lasted about 6 hours on my skin and then I started to see most of my skin and the redness come through again. It likely would have been longer lasting with a primer, I only used moisturizer under it.<br />
The dealbreaker for me was my face was irritated and bumpy the day after using it. I tried it again to be sure and I got a weird tingly feeling all over my face. I had the exact same thing happen when I tried urban decay skin brightening primer potion! It has a few of the same ingredients and I think the litchi extract is to blame.<br />
Sadly, naked skin did not work out for me, but I can see why a lot of people would love it.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've included the ingredients list here: </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtm0ZaW76TmRF0ONJVYGdeV-0REM0ZE5pBPIq2jmldQzKQmiHbsA6TXWtLFSQlB6wNvhkN0QUZfRF-FZnf5SZYXIlGBV2qgiR6za1v-WZLz0K_PmTLnDMo9c8vdl29hZT3ZAODSg3SOzjW/s1600/PA270040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtm0ZaW76TmRF0ONJVYGdeV-0REM0ZE5pBPIq2jmldQzKQmiHbsA6TXWtLFSQlB6wNvhkN0QUZfRF-FZnf5SZYXIlGBV2qgiR6za1v-WZLz0K_PmTLnDMo9c8vdl29hZT3ZAODSg3SOzjW/s320/PA270040.JPG" width="231" /></a></div>
<br />
pros:<br />
<br />
- finish looks just like skin<br />
- excellent shade selection<br />
- contains peptides and antioxidants<br />
- easy to blend<br />
<br />
cons:<br />
<br />
- filled with silicones that can dry out skin and clog it<br />
- not very long lasting<br />
- exaggerates dry skin<br />
- settles into pores/lines soon after applying<br />
<br />
I think those with normal to oily skin would find they like this foundation. I'd recommend using a primer for best results.<br />
It's not a bad foundation but I've used way better ones. I was disappointed at how heavy it feels considering they are marketing it as 'weightless'. I think it's somewhat hyped up like most Urban Decay products.<br />

Believe it or not, I never tried OCC lip tars until a couple months ago. They are super popular, I had to see what all the fuss was about.<br />
I chose the color 'tone' because it looked gorgeous, I have been looking for a nice nudish white lip color for a while.<br />
<br />
Tone is a whitened up clean pink. No brown or purple tones. It can make you look very washed out.<br />

Erm, I didn't like this color on me. It looked pretty gross, I won't lie. It made me look a bit ill and settled into lip lines. I loved the rich pigment and lasting power, but that's where it ended.<br />
<br />
I had no idea that lip tars contained a lot of peppermint oil. Why? I don't know, but I really wish it didn't.<br />
I find mint extract in lip products to irritate and dry my lips. That is exactly what happened after I used this lip tar. <br />

I wish OCC would make a mint-free version, then I would be very happy.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sin-full lash is supposed to make your lashes look fuller, add length and curl...everything basically. I watched an interview where Kat says she spent a lot of time getting the formula right, and even tested it herself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, does it do it all? Let's see.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The main thing I noticed was that this mascara made my lashes look nice and full. It sort of fanned them out and added some volume. Nothing too dramatic, but of course you can layer it and I never had much problem with it clumping.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The formula is a nice mix between dry/wet, right in the middle. It's got a really nice black pigment, nice and dark.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The brush is a good size, not too big and not too small.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
sin-full lash brush:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
So it added nice fullness and volume to my lashes, but it didn't do much for length. That is a deal breaker for me. I like length. <br />
I also found it gave me slight raccoon eyes within a few hours of wearing. It smudged every time I wore it.<br />

Needless to say, I returned it, because I only had it for 2 weeks and it broke, and started to dry out. Really not cool. I've never had this happen to a mascara tube, ever! I'm always careful with my makeup and I thought this was weird.</div>

Overall, I say pass. It only really volumizes, but will smudge by the end of the day. There are much better mascaras out there, less expensive ones too. </div>

One of the most beautiful things about winter is the way the snow sparkles through the sun, and the black pavement shimmers so bright.<br />

Stay safe and blessed be.<br />
<br />
Just a super quick personal note...Well, I'm still alive lol My kids were sick on and off all September, then I was very sick with pneumonia most of October, in and out of the hospital. It has been rough and I'm still not 100% better, if you've ever had to take the drug prednisone you know how horrible that stuff is...I had horrible side effects from it and I'm still getting it out of my system. That stuff should be illegal.<br />
Anyways just want to say I have lots of new blog material to post for you, and I will be back up to posting very soon. Thanks for reading,<br />

<br />
This was my very first Chanel blush. I ended up getting a tester since it's the cheapest way to try it out! (You can find all sorts of Chanel testers for sale on Ebay for about 1/2 the retail price).<br />
<br />
<br />
Tempting beige is a very warm rich brown toned peach. There are tiny shimmer particles laced through it but they seem to look natural and luminous on the skin.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQm5pVBEKT09euqm8OMmhVPq9UsfkdrCSeY73p0zo0p85YxlJD30iIOU5VYObt9OUaAYI1KTIMYA8qIo0c6QBYodZANjf6xt9oDfFiYeaimu9COxkMZLUiotF_2BCRDIGRjtlSE2SWi0Wn/s1600/P9180167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQm5pVBEKT09euqm8OMmhVPq9UsfkdrCSeY73p0zo0p85YxlJD30iIOU5VYObt9OUaAYI1KTIMYA8qIo0c6QBYodZANjf6xt9oDfFiYeaimu9COxkMZLUiotF_2BCRDIGRjtlSE2SWi0Wn/s320/P9180167.JPG" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tempting beige is super pigmented and packs a nice color even with light application.<br />
I found it very easy to blend, and the color left me with a natural glowy looking finish.<br />

I really packed it on here to show the color on my face. Normally I use a less amount and blend it with my highlighter to create a more subltle cheek. <br />
<br />
I have been looking for a nice neutral blush color to wear everyday
and just haven't found the right one. I thought tempting beige might be
it, but it's just too warm for me.<br />
<br />
I think tempting beige is a beautiful color that would suit practically any skin tone. For very fair skin I recommend using a lighter hand or it can make you look sunburned. <br />
<br />
I like Chanel blush because it lasts all day and the pigmentation is amazing.<br />
Have you tried any Chanel blush? What is your favorite 'go to' everyday blush color?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05449633300121629825noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6478651629837902954.post-85472765818911645052012-09-25T00:29:00.001-04:002012-09-25T00:32:25.473-04:00Sleek liqueur lipstick photos and swatches I've had this lipstick for a while and just found the swatches I took of it, it is really such a great color.<br />

Sleek lipsticks are packaged nicely in little black rubberized cases that are similar to NARS lipsticks. <br />
<br />
If you are looking for an everyday go with everything color, this just might be it. <br />
It's a nice neutral beige with slight gold pearl. It sort of reminds me of MAC viva glam V (<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc3g6r6SMIN5jhyq0gSpGp94x_bBj4aDOunx6YgiTYdZ8MbtftVuxcRqmY2FzWb3V5XVinjD0Z3gOduVOu7w5n589sAEAlGUY2z4nT3p8kKcTshEN_RzdRUmdC1HyTM0nfSwSEap-KAfNL/s1600/VIVAglamV.jpeg" target="_blank">swatch here</a>)<br />

The finish is a nice creamy satin, and feels moisturizing on. Unfortunately lasting power isn't the greatest, so it needs to be reapplied often.<br />

That is one thing I didn't like about this color - It's very translucent and hard to get an even application.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyFBBQ-E-EHFbNTRpWkPBYmXwvbqPlrD5inauGlOTMRKGsfkhWWZYjtfokNHOrwMHzC5y58lcYn6LRTrV0EgIIp2PfKXSGuinZ2IUhL5hKnT5upVc4EmoTnrpw1QPz-cmqAEncwP_3INjV/s1600/P6270032.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 362px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyFBBQ-E-EHFbNTRpWkPBYmXwvbqPlrD5inauGlOTMRKGsfkhWWZYjtfokNHOrwMHzC5y58lcYn6LRTrV0EgIIp2PfKXSGuinZ2IUhL5hKnT5upVc4EmoTnrpw1QPz-cmqAEncwP_3INjV/s400/P6270032.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5787913055148098738" border="0" /></a><br />It gives a really shiny finish like jellies usually do, love that.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitWuadA_sk5HOiih_7C7HNL-gAR1rQYt3HXGgl8PqHtw8Y2HDGhNf_8Blvol_SMH3_M3A2NCUf1DvuxcXctZrIDu6nJXqT0joU2gVK73IprYSGtM3Af1hsc6k_dG2EQgBAw-0NJ-9467S5/s1600/P6270036.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 329px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitWuadA_sk5HOiih_7C7HNL-gAR1rQYt3HXGgl8PqHtw8Y2HDGhNf_8Blvol_SMH3_M3A2NCUf1DvuxcXctZrIDu6nJXqT0joU2gVK73IprYSGtM3Af1hsc6k_dG2EQgBAw-0NJ-9467S5/s400/P6270036.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5787912952880444578" border="0" /></a><br />Although expensive, I really like MAC nail lacquers. It's pretty hard to ignore when every brand around puts out a BB cream weekly (or so it seems!).<br />Most of the BB creams you see out there are nothing more than tinted moisturizers, hyped up with advertising.<br />Smashbox did a pretty good job on this BB cream though, I must say.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg1Hlmjh_7dtviqGRnvD9tpWb7Va-p73E59O5IMwaqTKhlkN_hvpKX_TjkC1OpyJqzySKazv5Njtlx39XDeUfqaztUsSXo8cl5pUg0SEQ_ZQbylolXyb3zRsEsafLb9npOaZjNN4NFIXXo/s1600/P8110113.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg1Hlmjh_7dtviqGRnvD9tpWb7Va-p73E59O5IMwaqTKhlkN_hvpKX_TjkC1OpyJqzySKazv5Njtlx39XDeUfqaztUsSXo8cl5pUg0SEQ_ZQbylolXyb3zRsEsafLb9npOaZjNN4NFIXXo/s400/P8110113.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5787160812421330114" border="0" /></a>This BB cream comes in a tiny (1 oz) squeeze tube that has a twist off sort of cap. It did cover some redness, gave a glow and evened out my skin.<br /><br />This BB cream is supposed to: <b>moisturize, prime, perfect, protect and control oil</b>. Seems like a lot for one product to do.<br /><br />Did it live up to the claims?<br /><br />- <b>Moisturize?</b> No. I have dry sensitive skin and it did not moisturize, it made dry areas look worse :(<br /><br />- <b>prime?</b> Yes. It acted as a really good primer for makeup, helped my makeup go on smoother and last longer<br /><br />- <b>perfect?</b> No. I don't think any product can really 'perfect' skin.<br /><br /> - <b>protect?</b> Yes. The sunscreen actives protect skin from UVA and UVB rays. The formula contains some great antioxidants that will aid your skin as well.<br /><br />- <b>Control oil?</b> Yes. I do get slightly oily by the end of the day on my nose and chin, and this is where my makeup always slides off. I found the BB cream helped to keep my skin more balanced and less oily in those areas.<br /><br /><br />I like this product as a primer and sun screen.<br />It didn't offer enough coverage or hydration for me to wear by itself.<br />Unfortunately, it started to irritate my skin so I had to stop using it. Turns out I am sensitive to some chemical sunscreen ingredients.<br /><br />Overall, I think you will like this if you are more oily skinned, and want a good primer with sunscreen. If you don't need much coverage it could be a good light foundation for some.<br />If you have sensitive skin like me, try a sample first.<br /><br />One thing I wanted to mention is that this is available in 5 shades!!! All ranging from fair to dark. Now that is impressive, since most BB creams are only available in one or two shades.<br /><br />It is a very expensive product for quite a small amount, but due to the high SPF rating and inclusion of skin beneficial ingredients I think it is pretty well worth it.<br />Smashbox did a very good job with this product, and I think it is the closest you will find comparable (locally) to an Asian BB cream. The only difference here is that the Smashbox BB cream does not contain any whitening ingredients like most, and the coverage is not quite as good as Asian ones.<br /><br />Repurchase? It's just great!<br /><br />My latest mascara purchase from MAC was studio fix in boldblack - since I like intense black lashes :)<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiew6JJTtS2pEvNIKdyTJsXWgIonNixZ3TMP7NtUlngZDcsT8LMgwA_zCuww6jl1RfXBiooKlFKueA9r5MwcF2QZxq2bDxWKK3nKpLNVsWi4f77iDri0oAjioYgHFrEyOOsYe6YFUaRMZN/s1600/P2290009.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 310px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiew6JJTtS2pEvNIKdyTJsXWgIonNixZ3TMP7NtUlngZDcsT8LMgwA_zCuww6jl1RfXBiooKlFKueA9r5MwcF2QZxq2bDxWKK3nKpLNVsWi4f77iDri0oAjioYgHFrEyOOsYe6YFUaRMZN/s400/P2290009.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5783065169570946546" border="0" /></a>This is what MAC has to say about studio fix bold black :<br />'Innovative, mousse-like formula gives superior definition, volume and lift by filling in sparse lashes for a dramatic effect now in carbon black.'<br /><br />I do agree that it does give good volume and some definition. The formula is quite wet and can be a little messy, it clumps really easily.<br /><br />The brush is made of hard plastic with little teeth that grab lashes well.<br /><br /><div align="center">studio fix lash wand:<br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0imtLJNxAP1s-XJjzMrikSElf7tN__hNVNP2KLSoPoC_Q7P9hdLTL97STAWcMb3PX5BOP3q_sMSbEE6NJxloTK5RgJF38kWhOQ5l3fdb5k4THQQmTxEPGOKT1qLAUT1LNRmOasSa31jht/s1600/P2290016.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 334px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0imtLJNxAP1s-XJjzMrikSElf7tN__hNVNP2KLSoPoC_Q7P9hdLTL97STAWcMb3PX5BOP3q_sMSbEE6NJxloTK5RgJF38kWhOQ5l3fdb5k4THQQmTxEPGOKT1qLAUT1LNRmOasSa31jht/s400/P2290016.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5783065015000060930" border="0" /></a>I didn't like this wand too much, it wasn't flexible at all and it was rough on my lash line when trying to get the mascara into the lash roots.<br /><br />It really gave a lot of volume and I loved the black intensity. Not cool.<br />With 2 coats it was very hard to get the mascara not to clump. I think it's because the formula is so wet that it makes it difficult not to get too much product on the wand. Wiping the wand with a paper towel before applying would be best I think.<br /><br />Overall, I didn't really like this mascara as much as others from MAC. It held curl alright, added a little length and a lot of volume. But it flaked through the day, and it ended up irritating my eyes just like zoom lash did.<br /><br />If you like volume I think you would like this, but I wouldn't recommend it because it does have the tendency to clump and flake. A better option for volume and length would be MAC's false lashes mascara which doesn't clump or flake. Oops I still have to review that one!<br /><br />Repurchase? But I must say it's not for fair skin at all! It's <b>very yellow</b> toned and more suited to medium skin.<br />The reason this is a problem is because it is actually quite pigmented! I couldn't use this on my face because it was more like a foundation, and well - it looked way to dark on me.<br /><br /><div align="center">Here are swatches on my hand :<br /><br /></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4HpldC1bA8rtTJ6a8ikojK2bxU9j8I4c-iToI31RKbT3hwm9bQ32R78xgRgyeXdbjZfE8w4MtKjvu4ICesnBhFqWHrkQG_seQ-0s_xYquHdpz2RispuZDq6MF9y5UAhJmRW-4Xtvj2BuG/s1600/P8190007.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 277px; height: 353px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4HpldC1bA8rtTJ6a8ikojK2bxU9j8I4c-iToI31RKbT3hwm9bQ32R78xgRgyeXdbjZfE8w4MtKjvu4ICesnBhFqWHrkQG_seQ-0s_xYquHdpz2RispuZDq6MF9y5UAhJmRW-4Xtvj2BuG/s400/P8190007.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5782679684908155586" border="0" /></a>blended:<br /><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL4mcGtiX93pBNXCzTm9-qg2fNQD7g_kIzIWByKoRlpMvbphAdCtaOZsSgt5helhJNT8ohGJ-nnoUnMVfMocpEc-Wf00duyXjjhfnrNDZV8C9y5Qk8udr0zfswZkBjNMEjJLfFvyJ4Z7gl/s1600/P8190009.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 390px; height: 357px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL4mcGtiX93pBNXCzTm9-qg2fNQD7g_kIzIWByKoRlpMvbphAdCtaOZsSgt5helhJNT8ohGJ-nnoUnMVfMocpEc-Wf00duyXjjhfnrNDZV8C9y5Qk8udr0zfswZkBjNMEjJLfFvyJ4Z7gl/s400/P8190009.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5782679587427383634" border="0" /></a><br />My hands are like 2 shades darker than my face at this point of the summer. I should really use sunscreen on my hands as well!<br />Anyways this gives a gorgeous luminous finish, and is actually very hydrating. I was very impressed, except with the color.<br /><br />pros:<br /><br />- Protects skin against UVB rays<br />- non irritating<br />- includes skin beneficial antioxidants and moisturizers<br />- feels very nice on<br />- great coverage<br />- gives complexion a luminous healthy look<br /><br />cons:<br /><br />- Not broad spectrum sun protection (you need to block both UVA and UVB rays to avoid skin damage)<br />- Feels slippery on the skin, doesn't fully 'set' rubs off on clothing (unless set with powder)<br />- Color options are very limited (medium to deep skin tones - nothing for fair or very dark)<br /><br />Overall, I highly recommend this if you like tinted moisturizers and some coverage. I would say the light/medium would suit NC20 to NC35 skin tones. Possibly NW15 if you get darker in summer.<br />I love this stuff and I'm very sad they don't make it in a lighter color.<br /><br />Repurchase? No. Not light enough for my skin.<br /><br />Price: $16 CAD<br /><br />Rating: 4/5<br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05449633300121629825noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6478651629837902954.post-54262837572521004872012-08-27T00:26:00.013-04:002012-08-27T01:31:33.617-04:00Kat Von D lock-it tattoo foundation review<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRfaObR8pxW0pUEWPslPzKHhzkBU0eFI2q1JrbxKtwh1ztqWR6nqFmWcyVqeisFplHpXwAJTUfM01gzukCuLD9ZSx0k8ssH025rrYWQ4w1GwTWW7BmQuzUTPO0u-HIGVO2KTIKTfeoaOyz/s1600/P8190022.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 292px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRfaObR8pxW0pUEWPslPzKHhzkBU0eFI2q1JrbxKtwh1ztqWR6nqFmWcyVqeisFplHpXwAJTUfM01gzukCuLD9ZSx0k8ssH025rrYWQ4w1GwTWW7BmQuzUTPO0u-HIGVO2KTIKTfeoaOyz/s400/P8190022.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5781205423816615106" border="0" /></a>So lately I've been experimenting with all sorts of different foundations, and after hearing KVD had a new foundation out I practically ran to Sephora to try it.<br />I love the way Kat's face always looks very smooth and well, perfectly covered:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDvUZMuHEH7A27958c5Pjx3kobq2dv763_ePYdRZzOi6qk30SYbSrc22QZuVc-GMNvbEgMYOWYUv79mdhckoinGDzvp4gLl2LEkLU2-pUyZlOVE-DYhqPTbTv6pMlQf6SLl0Sg4CJtVPjl/s1600/Kat%252BVon%252BD%252BTattoos%252BStar%252BTattoo%252B6M3YAowpo6Hl.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDvUZMuHEH7A27958c5Pjx3kobq2dv763_ePYdRZzOi6qk30SYbSrc22QZuVc-GMNvbEgMYOWYUv79mdhckoinGDzvp4gLl2LEkLU2-pUyZlOVE-DYhqPTbTv6pMlQf6SLl0Sg4CJtVPjl/s400/Kat%252BVon%252BD%252BTattoos%252BStar%252BTattoo%252B6M3YAowpo6Hl.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5781209951213834146" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOIw9D1QnZsGic-8umk2kUsG5oiB0X2-D0_Lb-pjfuXiN5FtdVuJKsG1MF8lK8NlOZW4YuGMs1bSKMQ26Sozp1ytvts0n2PvRdJR_0b1MtJsR78zzViOyC0j6ow0UhqDUH2z-VLb6ZuQRt/s1600/KatVonD.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 325px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOIw9D1QnZsGic-8umk2kUsG5oiB0X2-D0_Lb-pjfuXiN5FtdVuJKsG1MF8lK8NlOZW4YuGMs1bSKMQ26Sozp1ytvts0n2PvRdJR_0b1MtJsR78zzViOyC0j6ow0UhqDUH2z-VLb6ZuQRt/s400/KatVonD.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5781209738397674610" border="0" /></a>Dare I say that this foundation actually makes my skin look almost as amazing as Kat's? Well, I'll let you be the judge when you see my before and after pics.<br /><br />The shade I chose was the second lightest, light 44 'For fair skin with beige undertones'. It's about an NC15 in MAC..maybe more neutral (MAC runs very yellow).<br />Just an FYI, the lightest shade of lock-it 'light 42' is very very light. It will be an excellent match for those with very fair skin who have a hard time finding a shade light enough.<br /><br /><div align="center">KVD tattoo foundation shade Light 44:<br /></div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbFUCnh2ySLW-MucOybTyi-1yD5JdruP1tWVp4TWKIuy5k4EQ4qxC8icYe_lR8Rq2Y7BHOZifxI5pONhdT8mMJl1JBc-enr1MoxtJKJN3uIc50WPc0Lg0Mqz1qP64a2-_NEkfwlSy0TVE0/s1600/P8190029.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 226px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbFUCnh2ySLW-MucOybTyi-1yD5JdruP1tWVp4TWKIuy5k4EQ4qxC8icYe_lR8Rq2Y7BHOZifxI5pONhdT8mMJl1JBc-enr1MoxtJKJN3uIc50WPc0Lg0Mqz1qP64a2-_NEkfwlSy0TVE0/s400/P8190029.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5781205333501041314" border="0" /></a>The packaging is amazing, very pretty like all KVD's line. My skin is suffering some redness and a few breakouts lately, and with this stuff on it looks absolutely perfect. LOVE it.<br />The finish is matte, but it isn't flat like some mattifying foundations. It maintains a skin like glow on your face and actually doesn't look too heavy or cakey.<br /><br />Wear time was pretty good, after about 12 hours I got a bit of patchiness where my skin was getting a bit dry.<br />This would not hold out for 24 hours as claimed, but why would you need a foundation to last that long anyways?<br /><br />Overall this is what I think of it:<br /><br />Pros:<br /><br />- great color selection<br />- beautiful packaging<br />- long lasting<br />- superior coverage<br />- controls oil<br /><br />Cons:<br /><br />- smells sort of nasty..can't really compare to anything but I don't like it<br />- can make your skin feel dry<br />- doesn't live up to the 24 hr claim<br />- expensive<br /><br />I need to mention that I have recently used Make up forever's matte + velvet foundation and it is very similar to this. The coverage is not quite as good, but it doesn't dry out my skin like lock-it does.<br />The only one that comes close to lock-it in terms of coverage is Estee Lauder maximum coverage camouflage. Will do a review on that one at some point too.<br /><br /><br />I think that if you are looking for a true full coverage foundation you need to try this.<br /><br />Repurchase? No. I found it to be too drying for my skin.<br /><br />Price: $41 CAD<br /><br />Rating: 4/5<br /><br /><br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05449633300121629825noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6478651629837902954.post-57938251753303437322012-08-26T00:47:00.004-04:002012-08-26T01:09:09.590-04:00NOTD: nails inc. sprinkles sugar house lane<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihalpBVrSx_ZNPx55OSD1-miRzZDw2N397nkO2f3lfGzpb30grFPFcUMlnibcF2kkqRREue1RWNCxR42JmRrR57AKJ3Tagri8xk7s33xjsfMIQrJi63Cf94d7AKjjAEf2DuSQ601uu6d9Q/s1600/P8190170.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 371px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihalpBVrSx_ZNPx55OSD1-miRzZDw2N397nkO2f3lfGzpb30grFPFcUMlnibcF2kkqRREue1RWNCxR42JmRrR57AKJ3Tagri8xk7s33xjsfMIQrJi63Cf94d7AKjjAEf2DuSQ601uu6d9Q/s400/P8190170.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5780841501231762226" border="0" /></a>I don't know why but I adore this polish! Pale grey/beige with black and silver 'sprinkles' heck ya!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_HKEZaV6HvcZWCieNJeYLp3V_wW9GL6fMkfCdJ7Iymh_aYt3M3Cdshx_GSQvVD-jxQJpqQ2RF3-e1MDYUaNBQsi5hY5pem-J4R1XDdja1Bv5QAiP14C1aeg3FCY0QuhEBR14YHcmcSWPD/s1600/P8190174.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 337px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_HKEZaV6HvcZWCieNJeYLp3V_wW9GL6fMkfCdJ7Iymh_aYt3M3Cdshx_GSQvVD-jxQJpqQ2RF3-e1MDYUaNBQsi5hY5pem-J4R1XDdja1Bv5QAiP14C1aeg3FCY0QuhEBR14YHcmcSWPD/s400/P8190174.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5780841282826367890" border="0" /></a><br />Click above pic to see the texture. This is what 2 coats looks like without a base, I was surprised it was so opaque! Really cool.<br />With glitters like this I usually peel them off within a day because they feel chunky on my nails; but this one was nice and smooth with a thin topcoat. It lasted 3 days before chipping.<br /><br />This is my first nails inc. polish and I think I will be getting more. I really want to grab all of the sprinkles ones!<br /><br />Have you tried these special effects 'sprinkles' yet? What do you think?<br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05449633300121629825noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6478651629837902954.post-20008095698141487432012-07-14T02:10:00.000-04:002012-07-14T02:10:21.382-04:00Blog Renovations :)Well I think it's time I revamped this site a bit, I'm bored of the way it looks now.<br />
So, if it looks funny when you visit it's because I'm still editing everything.<br />
This could take a few days or even a week or two because I just don't have as much time as I'd like to spend on it.<br />
On an exciting note I'm going to be adding a mascara index page - basically a page where you can view every single mascara I've tested and a link to the review. Not all my reviews are on this blog, some are on makeupalley. So that will take some time, but once it's up I'm sure it's going to be really helpful.<br />
I just realized how crazy about mascaras I am, and thinking maybe I need to make a seperate blog *just* for mascara reviews lol. But I think this index thing will be a great addition to makeup or morte.<br />
A serious idea I'm having is of making a seperate NOTD (nail of the day) blog. It would be really simple, just pics of all my NOTDs which change pretty well every 2-4 days. <br />
What do you think?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05449633300121629825noreply@blogger.com2
