Review and NOTD new konad plate m85

I haven't had time to play with my konad stamps for a long time, but recently I got the chance to try this brand new design and had some fun with this plate.

New Konad plate m85:

m85 includes 5 images for stamping with. There is a cute star design, flower/swirl pattern, interlocking rings/hoops pattern, abstract flower pattern and my favorite, sort of a tribal abstract design.

To test out some of the patterns I started with two coats of OPI la positively hot matte. This color has sat untried on my shelf for months, but whoa it is really sexy!

First, I tried the tribal abstract design. I love this one! It's awesome.

Please forgive the messiness, it's been a good 6 months since I have done any konading!
On my other hand I tried out the interlocking hoops/rings design. I didn't like this one as much as the tribal.

I found the design a little boring so I added another stamp of the hoops using white konad polish overtop. This looked pretty cool, even though I didn't do the best job I liked the result.

I can tell you I think this plate is really unique and fun to play with. I tried the star design as well, sorry no pic but it turned out great.

The one thing I didn't like was that the hoop design was hard to pick up on the konad stamper. This is very common with very thin designs. It just takes practice and patience to get it right.
The other thicker designs are easy to work with and come out looking great.

NOTD: OPI I lily love you over suzi skis the pyrenees

I got OPI I lily love you when it first came out with the nice stems collection for summer. This color is insane. The clear base is completely loaded with all different shapes and sizes of glitter and big flakies.

This is 2 coats of I lily love you layered over 2 coats of Suzi skis the Pyrenees:

Glitter overdose!

My camera sucks so the colors don't show up well, but within the glitters you can see practically every color of the rainbow. predominately blue, green, pink, yellow and orange.





I think that one coat of I lily love you would have been better than two, because all the glitter chunks started merging and getting slightly gnarled up. It looked very cosmic, in fact I named it 'cosmic insanity'.

I lily love you looks cool over other colors too. I first tried it over mermaids tear's (sea foam green/teal) and it turned a neat purple because of the pink jelly base. It's definitely a versatile polish, I'd love to do a matte look with it too.

This is a must have polish for glitter fans. It's the craziest glitter I've ever seen!

Happy NOTD: OPI skull and glossbones

Why so happy? Because I've finally, after searching for over a year, found the perfect grey creme nail polish!
If you have seen my other NOTD posts you might have noticed me ranting about grey polishes always turning blue, purple or corpse toned on me.
I have laid to rest my search.

Skull and glossbones is from OPI's new pirates of the Caribbean collection. I picked up 3 other colors too (including silver shatter) because I really these odd dirty colors ;)

Skull and glossbones is a perfect mix of white grey and beige. No ugly green, purple blue or yellow undertones to be seen. It's a true ghostly grey.

For my pale friends I have to say that you need to check out the OPI pirates collection. Most of the colors look smashing against pale skin tones!

NOTD: OPI I'd like to thank...

What a crazy week, wow. I wish I had more time to blog! It's my relaxation time. Anyways, this color caught my eye when I was shopping for 'dusties'. I'm sure it's long been discontinued.
I'd like to thank is a very mellow duochrome, but it really does shift some pretty colors.

The base is a warm bronze with a rosy pink duochrome. It's not overly dramatic. Laced through are some silver sparkles that shift to green -yes green- in different light. pretty cool.

You can sort of see the silver/green sparkle in the bottle:

It's sort of boring, sort of neat. I don't like it on my skin tone so I gave it away.

I have many posts in draft right now, trying to work on them a little at a time. Hopefully soon I will be posting much more frequently!

NOTD: OPI not like the movies

Ever since I saw swatches on Beauty Judy's blog I knew I needed to have this polish! I hunted around for it until people were sick of seeing me lurking their OPI displays. It's part of the Katy Perry for OPI collection released January 2011.

Not like the movies is a super multidimensional duo chrome. The main colors are green and purple, but in different lights I see lilac, seafoam blue and silver. There are tiny silver shimmer particles mixed in as well.

It turns a murky green in some lights, really unique color.

This is a definite hit from Katy Perry's collection. The other colors are ok, and the black shatter is neat (call me old but wasn't that the trend in 1995?) but not like the movies is the color to get!

NOTD: OPI Show It and Glow It!

Tis the season for glitter and glam. OPI's show it and glow it is from the limited edition 2010 Burlesque collection. is purely glitter, a good pick for a holiday party or if you enjoy anything extremely sparkly.

The glitters are predominantly fuchsia, blue and silver. On the nails it looks very purple.

Surprisingly, this only took 2 coats to become fully opaque! It's just loaded to the brim with dense glitter particles.

This is really pretty, but I really wish I had gotten sparkle-icious instead. Anyone want to trade?
