Estee Lauder double wear light foundation review

One foundation I tried during the summer was Estee Lauder double wear light.
I wanted something that would last all day and still look natural.
Unfortunately, even with a light summer tan I could not get a color match in this foundation.
I ended up with intensity 1.0, and it's much too orange for me.

It is disappointing that Estee Lauder doesn't make lighter more neutral shades in this foundation.
The only way I can get this to work is if I use a lighter powder on top.

The coverage is good, and the finish is really nice and natural looking. It's satiny and looks a little bit dewy.
It lasts about 8 hours without any fading or shifting on me. Keep in mind this is humid summer weather, and I sweat a lot at my job.

Wearing double wear light after 8 hours:

You can see after 8 hours my skin still looks fresh, but the foundation has slightly started to wear off from my cheeks and nose area. This is most likely from me blowing my nose a lot from allergies.
I didn't have any irritation or break outs from this foundation.

I like double wear light, but I would rather stick with my Revlon colorstay for 1/2 the price. It works just as well for me, and I can actually get a proper color match! You can see my colorstay review here.

Estee Lauder sumptuous mascara review

Another Estee Lauder mascara, to be honest I really like some of their products lately! I loathe the gold/blue packaging but hey - it's what's inside that matters most.

Sumptuous is Lauder's 'bold volume lifting mascara'. I wouldn't say it's 'lifting' in any way but as for volume it works wonders.

The brush is a little bit big, but still easy enough to use. It grabs lashes and coats them nicely.

I found that with two coats I got pretty good volume and length from this mascara.
My lashes aren't as defined/separated as I'd like wearing this, but they did look nice and lush/full.
I didn't find it lifting at all, but it held curl through the day which is a big plus.
No smudging, flaking or smearing at all. Easy to remove.
Overall, a pretty good mascara. If you like volume you will love this.

repurchase? No, I like more defined lashes.

Estee Lauder double wear gel eyeliner stay bronze photos and swatches

Estee Lauder recently released some new double wear stay-in place gel eyeliners. Stay bronze caught my eye because it's a very red toned 'bronze' and somewhat unique. This color is limited edition.

For $23 CAD you get a pot of liner and a tiny brush to apply it with. I think it's totally worth the price because once this liner sets it does not budge at all until you take it off.

One thing about this color that is interesting is that it looks completely matte, but once applied you can see extremely tiny gold micro shimmer all through it. I love it. It's very hard to capture the shimmer in pictures, but you can see it IRL.

I actually used the little brush it came with and it worked nicely. For a thinner line you would need to use something like the MAC 209. This gel eyeliner is excellent, I think I'm going to pick up the black one next when I have the chance.

Estee Lauder peach nuance blush photos, swatches and FOTD

Along with my peach colored craze at the moment, I've been using Estee Lauder peach nuance blush a lot. It's my very fist peach blush! I didn't think it would suit my skin tone, but it looks very fresh and natural.

Peach nuance was released with 3 other colors: nude nuance, plum nuance and rose nuance. They were put out as part of a limited edition collection but Estee Lauder brought back peach nuance and plum nuance into the permanent line recently, due to the high demand for them.

The packaging is sturdy, a little bulky and not the most attractive. It's worth it for the pretty blush inside!

The gradient starts off with a warm light peach, moves into a midtone coral and lastly, ends in a deep pink peach.

The end result is a flush of peach that gives a fresh and youthful look. It makes my face glow like no other! I really feel 5 years younger when I wear this.

The texture is smooth and pigmented. I would compare the finish to that of newer MAC beauty powders. It's not shimmery or matte but very finely milled with small light reflecting pearl.

Wearing peach nuance:

MAC limited edition blush ombres are similar to these EL nuance blushes. I don't own ripe peach but from what I have seen peach nuance looks similar. I've heard ripe peach is more shimmery in finish. I really like peach nuance, it sort of squished my lemming for ripe peach.

Estee Lauder pure color gloss peach sizzle photos and swatches

Estee Lauder came out with a new selection of pure color glosses a few months ago. I checked them out and some of the colors are really nice. Out of all the 20 colors available, I picked out peach sizzle. It's just so gorgeous.

The new glosses are packaged in a longer thinner tube, but they include the same amount of gloss as the older 6ml pure color glosses. They still have the nice berry candy scent as the older style glosses too.

Peach sizzle is a sheer warm peach with a slight golden iridescence, and pink/violet micro shimmer. It's truly unique.

It goes on quite sheer, but adds a little bit of peach and dimensional shimmer to my lips.

Lasting power of this gloss isn't bad, the shimmer particles stick to my lips for quite a while after the gloss wears off. Pure color glosses in general are smooth and not sticky, they feel very comfortable on.
Overall, I really like this color and I think that it's worth checking out!

Estee Lauder projectionist mascara review

I'm not really an Estee Lauder advocate, but I will admit that some of their products are quite nice. Projectionist just so happens to be a pretty great mascara.

At first look the wand seems quite ordinary, but the 'ProDefinition Brush™' really does deliver!

'Volume without weight. A full sweep of thicker, longer, distinctly defined lashes.'

...it actually lives up to all of the claims.

I'm quite pleased with this mascara. It delivers perfectly defined long looking eyelashes with no clumps.
With just one coat I saw a difference in volume, length and definition.
It wore well through the day, with no smudging, maybe the slightest bit of flaking.
It definitely didn't weigh my lashes down, it held them up and kept them curled.
This is not the most voluminous mascara out there, but it's an excellent choice for day wear.
