Chanel petillants quad photos, swatches and tropical EOTD

This is a vintage beauty item! Released in Spring 1999, Chanel les quatre ombres petillants is filled with gorgeous warm colors that sizzle with a little shimmer.
Swatches left to right:
plum, amber, nectar, peony

I used the amber color all over the lid, added a little bit of nectar up into the crease and then shaded the crease with plum.
To finish the look I used a green liquid liner along the upper lid and brushed more of the amber color along my lower lash line. Peony was used to highlight the inner corners and brow bone.

Very warm colors! Great for olive toned or darker skins.

MAC Briar rose beauty powder swatches photos & FOTD

Gotta love that Malifecent packaging, so wicked cool! I like how all the products have the characters in different poses.
Ok so I know this is called a 'beauty powder' , but really, it's a (large) blush. I don't know what else people are going to use this for. Maybe if you are darker complected you could use it to contour a bit, but other than that it would look odd if you used it all over your face.

Swatched lightly:
Such a cute color! like pinky-lilac. I love it.

Swatched heavily:
It's actually pretty pigmented, so use a light hand when applying on fair skin. It is such a great color, I don't really have anything like it. The closest thing I have is Hard Candy 'living doll' blush, which is similar in color, but also is a glitter bomb.
As you can see Briar rose doesn't have any glitter, but super tiny fine light reflecting particles. It really gives a nice glow. My husband said I looked like I had been 'out in the wind' when I used it heavily. So, it mimics a natural flush :)

Here I used it lightly. It gives a nice flushed cheek.

Here I added more so you can see what it looks like better:

I would never usually put on this much blush, but with this color, I want to because I love it! So cute and girly. This would suit anyone.

MAC she who dares mineralize eyeshadow duo EOTD, photos, swatches & dupes

Here is what I can tell you about She who dares mes. It's super cool, super glittery and it's a super dupe for NARS night porter & NARS night flight eyeshadows. See more about that below.

The glitter likes to fall out and all over, so a good base is a must.
If you have used MAC's mineralized eyeshadow before, you probably already know that to maximize pigment and intensity it's best to use them wet. If you want a more subtle glitter dry is best.

Swatched dry:

Swatched wet:

Green side Compared to NARS night porter:

Very close dupe. When applied She who dares has a much brighter and nicer sparkle than night porter. Night porter is much more black than green.

Blue side compared with NARS night flight:

They seriously look identical. The only way I can tell the difference is by applying She who dares, the blue sparkles are very bright; whereas in night flight the sparkles are less intense.

So, if you have NARS night flight & night porter, you don't need this. And if you have she who dares, than don't bother with NARS night flight or porter. I personally like the sparkle better in she who dares :) Used wet it looks fantastic for a night out!

My EOTD using both sides of she who dares. after about an hour I had sparkles migrating down my cheeks : /

NARS Habanera eyshadow duo photos, swatches & EOTD

Habanera has got to be one of the most popular NARS Eyeshadow duo's. Mint green and sparkling brown-plum are two colors that nobody would really think to put together. But they really work!

These two Eyeshadows are extremely pigmented, look at my fingers- after I barely touched it.

The inspiration for this duo? Possibly these chocolate habaneras.

I used the mint side on the inner eye, and the plum on the outer part.

The awesome thing about this duo is that it would suit anyone. Green eyes, blue eyes, brown eyes and anything in between could really rock this. It's definitely one of my top 5 favorite Eyeshadow of all time.

MAC Aristo-Cat lipstick photos & swatches

Aristo-Cat is a new limited edition lipstick that launched in the Palace Pedigreed line of Fabulous Felines (for Fall 2010).
MAC describes it as Mid-tone frosted purple mauve (Frost). I think it is definately mauve, but within the 'frost' there is a hint of gold that makes it super cute and sexy!
I had to get it since I don't have anything this color and MAC doesn't have any colors like this in the permanent line. O is probobly the closest, but it's much more brown.

Excuse my face, end of the day FOTD wearing Aristo-Cat

I really like it!

My little MAC Venomous villains haul, photos and thoughts

I was so shocked the most popular thing from the Venomous Villains collection was the nail polish! I mean they are really neat, and pretty, but wow just so, so much hype.

Practically everything from VV is now sold out online, (I think all of the Maleficent stuff is) so I had to bust it over to another city today where they have a MAC counter. The only thing they had sold out of there was Magically Cool Liquid Powder in truth and light as well as mean and green nail polish.

I have to say that sweet revenge lipglass is a pretty close dupe to sweet strawberry lipglass from hello kitty. I didn't bother getting it since I already have sweet strawberry. So - if you missed out on sweet strawberry, you might want to pick up sweet revenge.

I got 3 items from the Maleficent line. She's from sleeping beauty, and I always thought she was the most bad ass Disney character there is.
I got She who dares mineralized eyeshadow duo, Briar rose beauty powder, wrong spell lipglass and I also got the last Aristo-cat lipstick they had! (From the fabulous felines collection).

Briar rose beauty powder - I love this! see more photos and swatches here
She who dares eyeshadow - AMAZING! See more photos and swatches here!

Wrong Spell lipglass - see more photos and swatches here

Aristo-cat lipstick, absolutely gorgeous See more photos & swatches here

Other than the Maleficent line - I'm not too impressed with the VV collection overall. I didn't even look at the Cruella De vil or Evil queen products as I can spot dupes for practically all the colors. Boring and tacky too...*dodges flames*.
I thought that the magically cool powder was a joke. I read reviews about how neat it feels and looks, um what? I played with the cajun powder and I was thinking 'why is this $40?' ..it seemed like a regular finely milled loose powder to me. When I swatched it on my hand it still looked like a regular loose powder. So whats the big deal?
And where is this Dr. Facilier guy from anyways? My husband said 'is that some pirate pimp guy'? LOL I don't know why MAC picked that dude.
The nail polishes are neat, but there are dupes for the colors out there, the new Orly cosmic FX collection for September is similar to these and they are cheaper.
I don't mean to sound cynical I am just stating my opinion.
Was anyone else not so blown away by this collection? What are your thoughts?
